White Oaks Mall's Sartorial Stars

When it comes to style, there are certain people who just have 'It';  They approach getting dressed with a sense of purpose, a sense of humour and an absolute sense of who they are.  These four sartorial stars from White Oaks Mall each brings a totally unique perspective to dressing and whether you like their style or not, they'll make you look twice.  From the modern minimalista to the glam-rock queen, which one is your favourite?

1) How would you describe your personal style?

Fairly minimal, 50's influences mixed in with some 90's grunge.

2) Who/what inspires your style?

Hmm... the first to come to mind would be French women, especially circa new wave cinema / A  certain nostalgia for past eras / Currently, the kids in 'Restless'. / Men's wear..the styling of well dressed grandpas is always a favourite. I do follow collections and style blogs, so they must leave an imprint also.

3) What's your favourite spring trend? Do you follow trends?

Bright colours and colour-blocking..but I can't say I really do follow them.

4) What's one item in your closet that you can't live without?

Oversized thick knit cardigans! Also, a classic leather belt in brown and black.

5) What's your must-have spring item from Club Monaco?

The Beatrix sweater skirt, perfect for now and transitioning into milder weather.

1) How would you describe your personal style?

I would say my look is hippy chic. I'm a laid-back person so it reflects in my style.  I love the rocker look, with messy hair and relaxed style. I wear a lot of black because it never goes out of fashion, but sometimes I will add a touch of colour.

2) Who/what inspires your style?

I'm inspired by actresses like Kate Bosworth and Drew Barrymore who are more carefree with their style.

3) What's your favourite spring trend? Do you follow trends?

I work in the mall so trends are all around me;  I like to make it my own to add a personal flair.

4) What's one item in your closet that you can't live without?

I cannot live without my band tees!  I have a growing collection.

5) What's your must-have spring item(s) from ALDO Accessories?

Accessory-wise, gold is really trending along, with all the feathers. I love double-finger rings and long simple necklaces.

1) How would you describe your personal style?

Classic but with a modern, urban twist. Simple but stylish.

2) Who/what inspires your style?

Tom Ford. He has wisdom, style, class and creativity. He understands and shows men how to be true to your own style but make it more personal/ Style blogs - my "go to" especial on days I don't know what to wear/ People-watching and my mannequins.

3) What's your favourite spring trend? Do you follow trends?

I do "follow" and get inspired by the trends, though I don't always participate.  This spring I love the direction for both men and women;  You see the marriage of equal parts casual and formal like pop-coloured relaxed knits meet structured bottoms and jackets.

4) What's one item in your closet that you can't live without?

A well-fitted navy blazer.

5) What's your must-have spring item from Gap?

1969 garment-dyed straight fit jeans. They kill two birds with one stone:  They instantly update my work wardrobe (Jeans, Blazer and button down) and add spring into my casual look (hoodie and Nikes)

The Glam-Rock Goddess:  Cierra Anderson

Spends her days looking stylish at:  H&M

1)  How would you describe your personal style?

Someone once told me that I'm glam rock and I think that pretty much describes my style

2) Who/what inspires your style?

Tumblr is really interesting;  There are always posts of people around the world wearing really interesting things.  My friends and musicians (especially Solange Knowles!) are always an inspiration, too.

3) What's your favourite spring trend?  Do you follow trends?

I love bright colours - when spring comes I avoid black as much as I can.  Still, I wouldn't say I really follow trends -  I'm more for just doing what you want to do, not what magazines tell you to do.

4) What is one thing in your closet that you can't live without?

Great lipstick - MAC's St. Germain is my current favourite (not pictured b/c she just ran out!)  A cute purse or shoes are essential because they instantly transform a basic pair of jeans and t-shirt and make you look put-together.

5) What's your must-have spring item from H&M?

Our green pants are amazing - they're great for spring because they're really bright and form-fitted and have a very unique look.
