Since last week's post on dresses (scroll down if you missed it), I've worn nothing else. I went on and on about how much I love dresses but didn't even touch on the footwear issue (bad blogger!). Now that the weather's warmer, we can finally start to show off our pedis and get our sandals out of storage. But if you want to look really current this season, there's nothing cuter than pairing a dress with a pair of sneakers. I'm not talking about your gym shoes, to be clear, but sweet, slip-on, plimsoll sneakers. The plimsoll was originally called a 'sand shoe' in the UK, and acquired the 'plimsoll' moniker in the 1870's because the coloured horizontal band joining the upper to the sole resembled the Plimsoll line on a ship's hull. Feel free to use that super cool piece of trivia at your next party.
I am lo-o-ving these star print sneakers from GAP and you'll love what they do to your wardrobe, from your cropped skinnies to your shorts to all of your breezy summer dresses. The weather has finally lightened up, lovelies. Shouldn't your footwear do the same?
